Introduction
Unitech trans-edge trims reduce the risk of accidents for pedestrian and trolley traffic by providing a safe link between floorcoverings. It is manufactured using high quality aluminum to withstand repeated heavy traffic impacts. It provides a neat transition between carpet finishes. It features a slip-resistant PVC insert available in 3 colors. The insert is fitted on-site once the aluminum base has been fitted, therefore offering a concealed fixing. This profile is designed for use in severe pedestrian and trolley traffic applications e.g railway stations, airports, transport interchanges, department stores, high street shops and hospitals.

Installation
1. Before installation, ensure that all surfaces to which the profile is to be fitted are dry, flat, free from any debris or contaminants and in an ambient temperature not less than 18C.
2. Cut the profile to size required.
3. Place the profile in position and mark the position of the screw holes onto the substrate.
4. Drill the substrate to a depth of 30-35mm and insert suitable fixing plugs into the holes.
5. Apply high performance cartridge adhesive with gap filling properties to the back of the profile and place onto the substrate.
6. Using 6mm screws fix through the profile, into the plugs and tighten.
7. Clean out the profile channel and install the insert
8. When using heat care should be taken not to overheat the insert. Only enough heat should be applied that makes the insert more supple NOT hot.
9. After the aluminum ramp profile has been secured to the subfloor, cut the insert material to 10mm longer than required.
10. Starting from one end of the profile, remove the release paper from the tape on the back of the insert and fit into the profile channel, ensuring the insert is butted tight to the wall.
11. Continue fitting the insert into the channel for approx. one third the length of the profile.
